Although Stepps is a fairly small village there are plenty of activities to get involved with in Stepps and the surrounding areas. Stepps itself is home to a Bowling Club, Tennis Club and several football and hockey pitches.

Cardowan Moss is a heather-covered bog, grassland and wetland area with a wildlife reserve home to a population of water voles, an endangered species in the U.K.

Hogganfield Loch is a popular site for walking, cycling and running. It is also home to a large number of bird species. Lethamhill Golf Course is situated beside the parking area.
